I really appreciated the hard work done by Ms. Djachechi on my application. I was denied and yet according to the criteria that they share publicly, I am eligible. I received a phone call from another employee to confirm some information and was 1) denied within 1 hour without given the opportunity to provide further information that was requested and 2) insulted in a horrible way - “this is for people who can’t feed their families”. HomeSafe GA needs some professional development regarding culture and diversity as well as basic human respect. I am my family and my animals are my family and I can assure you we struggle every month to maintain a roof over our heads. They also need to update their criteria publicly and be more explicit about their eligibility requirements, including that you must procreate and have children to be considered for the program. 3) I was also told that being a crime victim causing permanent damage to my physical and mental heath was not considered a hardship. I really hope nothing like what happened to me happens to this person or her family so she doesn’t have to endure the devastation caused by it. 0 stars.
