I am going to be forced to switch banks. I understand the concerns of covid and businesses being cautious. At the same time other banks lobbies are open to customers. Being the only bank with in a 30 minute radius you should be able to accommodate your customer needs. I’ve tried for over a week to at least get a appointment which isn’t realistic and was told when I finally did reach the bank to go to another location.

I went to The Bedford location to cash a check written from their bank, the doors were locked and they told me I needed an appointment. There were no customers in the bank, and at least three employees in sight, I was told I could take a half an hour ride to Exeter, which is a ridiculous solution in my eyes at least, especially since it would have been closed by the time I got there. I offered to stay outside and give them my checks and drivers license, but that was not an option either I guess. I feel that they could have been a lot more courteous to their bankers customers and have a better system than they have in place. I would not personally have an account there due to their lack of availability and options, along with their seemingly lack of customer service. I understand the covid concerns that the world is facing, I am one of the many many people who have to be out there in it daily with my job, but with just my salary right now, money is tight. I wish that they could have maybe just had a little more care for people’s needs. I do not feel like it was asking a lot of them to just cash a check.

I’ve been with the The Provident Bank since Amesbury, Mass. When I moved to NH I was psyched they had a branch in Bedford.I had to open a joint account for our house. Was unable to ended up going to TD bank which I was bummed about because I’ve grown up with The Provident Bank. Then today I had to take out $1500 cash for a emergency and was unable to today. No drive thru, lobby closed only atm. ATM can only take out $500 at a time.I understand we are in a middle of a Covid epidemic but come on!! Learn to start doing business with covid. Restaurants are doing it. Other banks are. How hard is it to require mask. Only one customer in the lobby at a time and request to use hand sanitizer before entering? There’s no reason to hold people’s money hostage especially during a emergency situation. Next closet is Exeter which I can’t get to at the moment. If I could get to it. It would have been closed by the time I did.I’m very disappointed. I’m not going to be doing this for a whole year stressing out trying to get money out of my OWN ACCOUNT. Covid going to be here for a long time and people still have emergencies and need to live. It’s not right that I can’t access my own money. The amount of stress this caused me is unreal. The fact that I broke down at the bank crying and I have no idea what I am going to do right now. This has to be illegal. Preventing people from getting access to their own money? You are a essential business! You need to be open for your customers!
