I go in to open a savings account. This location has no physical employees, it’s all video conferencing. I’m very much ok with that as I understand we’re in a pandemic, time are changing, etc. the video conferencing process was lengthy, I gave the representative my address over five times. Somehow they already had an incorrect address in the system. How they got it, I’m not sure as I’ve never banked with them before. At the end of the lengthy process to open a basic savings account I am told they don’t accept cash. A bank that doesn’t accept cash? I’m sorry I can’t wrap my head around that. I get that there isn’t anyone there physically but most banks have ATMs that accept cash deposits. Not to mention when you create a bank that doesn’t have physical customer service reps you’d think they’d take into account that people may want to deposit cash— the primary purpose of a bank. To put away your cash! Bank of America is a new comer in the southwest Ohio region attempting to compete with fifth third and other large regional banks. They will definitely FAIL with their business structure as it stands. I see why there’s only one physical location so far in Cincinnati.
