With all the good ratings, I decided to contact this firm. First of all, his assistant that answered the phone was a delightful person. When I came in with my wife, we came about 10 minutes early because we didn't want to be late. She was very nice to us. Whoever said she was not nice on the phone must have been a competitor wanting to say something negative that was not true. My Gardner gave us tax and financial advice. He told us the pros and cons and left the decision to us. We wanted to start saving for college for our child and was torn with paying off are home with money from savings. He suggested if we kept our mortgage to refinance at a lower rate than what we had. He gave us 2 mortgage brokers name for us to choose from if we decided to keep a mortgage and if we decided to refinance. He is easy to work with, very experienced, and reasonable. We are glad we picked this CPA. Usually don't write reviews, but the 2 bad reviews when all the other were positive are not a fair representation of this firm. Google is a great place to find out about a company. It is also an easy place for some idiot to write something negative about a good company. We liked Mr. Gardner, his staff, and was a tremendous help to us. We recommend this CPA.

I used Mr Gardner when I received a notice from the IRS on an error in my return concerning a stock transaction. Ed handled it professionally and quickly, and even dealt with the stock broker to get the missing information for me. I found Ed through a community message board, with high reviews. As far as his staff, I found them welcoming and very helpful.

Ed Gardner is a very thorough and prompt tax professional. I send in our tax info and within 48 hours or less I get a call from him outlying the details. Within the week we receive the prepared return ready to file. Ed answers his own phone most of the time and is always willing to assist in answering any questions and making sure we take our legal deductions. We have been using Ed for 35 years now and will continue with him.

Ed's an awesome accountant. He gets busy toward filing times so you have to get in early. It's not rocket science. He allocates a lot of time for business clients around their filing times. Ed's saved me nearly $50,000 federal taxes over the last 3 years. What's not to like about that? And for the lady that mentioned she didn't understand about deadlines; you really have to be aware that tax time is the superbowl for CPAs. If you don't get in early, you are just out of luck. There are only so many hours in a day, and Ed gets up at 3am every day during the busy season just so he can help people like you. He's a great guy, and he really cares about his clients. If you don't like this, then H&R Block is for you!

Please be aware that Mr. Gardner charged our firm for a consultation ($100.00) and never responded to emails or phone calls after that. He kept the check and I never heard from him again even after numerous tries. A year has gone by. I ended up having to have our businesses taxes done by another firm. After reading reviews we decided to go with Edward Gardner for our income tax prep- or so we thought. I called to make an apt and get a rough estimate on services. The receptionist literally told me (in a rude condescending voice) "Umm we don't do estimates we are in the middle of tax season" and hung up on me. Would have said okay I'll just make an apt to come in, but I couldn't because she hung up on me and quite honestly wouldn't want to if that's the way I'd be treated. Just a FYI if you were going to try to do taxes here this year. Couldn't believe my ears.

Getting my taxes done isn't exactly what I'd consider a 'fun" activity, however, Ed has a great sense of humor and managed to make our session pleasant and enjoyable. He knows what he is doing for income taxes and dealing with the IRS.

This guy may be great but you really have to get around his incompetent staff in order to find out. I found his information online and saw he had good comments and a high rating so I decided to give him a try. I called today to setup a free consultation for Corporate taxes and was told by the receptionist that the corporate tax filing deadline ended on March 17th. Really? I was shocked because my deadline is April 15th. And because they deadline has already passed, she can only setup appointments for after April 15th. Huh? Now, I am even more confused, if the deadline ended on March 17th, why can you only setup an appointment after April 15th. Anyway, I then explained to her that corporations can have different filing deadlines and it also depends on your type of corporation, S or C. I also told her that our corporation filing deadline is September 15th but we filed for an extension through April 15th, thus, the March 17th date she is using may apply to some companies (specifically S Corps) but not all of them and it definitely does not apply to us. After telling her this, her attitude completely changed and she went from nice person to a "call us back if you want to use us" and hang up the phone person. Of course, I would never use a CPA firm whose staff doesn't even know the basics about filing deadlines and furthermore, someone who is rude to me after correcting them. I am sure he may be a great CPA; however, I will never find out. My recommendation would be to educate the person answering the phone or replace her because she is killing your business.
