ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I was in St Louis at training for 7 1/2 weeks. First time in my own without family, living out of a hotel room with noone I knew. I ended up having a kidney infection UTI, and passing out before class one morning in the middle of April. The hotel wanted to call an ambulance and take me to the hospital, I said no because I couldn’t deal with the bill. I SHOULD HAVE JUST WENT TO THE ER, it would have been cheaper! I ended up going to an urgent care after class. I received two bills from the day, a $320 bill and a $3400 bill. By July the $3400 bill was requesting payment and no word for my insurance, however the $320 was already submitted and I received the amount I was responsible for. After 20 calls (NO JOKE!) with BCBS, asking why one bill was covered and processed through and the other wasn’t, I have been told that my name was spelled wrong (MAY instead of MARY) the birthday was wrong (my mother’s birthday was in place on mine...NO I’m not almost 40) and that they didn’t believe I had an account ( my family was been with BCBS since before I was born) ....as reasons why the bill was not processed. ——But none of this mattered on the less expensive bill from the same day with the same information that was processed?????—— SO I went through marketplace and re-enrolled to change my birthday that they clearly messed up- took over two hours. In October, after playing back and forth games since July, and Marketplace manager called me and apologized, and confirmed that everything has been changed and to please allow 2-3 weeks to process. Beginning of December I call and am told by Dee H. that it has been submitted and processed in late November and I am responsible for $136. I was stocked! I couldn’t believe out of a $3400 bill I was only responsible for $136. I asked her again, and she said yes, Really!. It was finally over. Then I get a bill in the mail that says I owe $942.26 I call and talk the supervisor who says Sorry, the representative just told me the amount I had to pay for walking into the door. THAT IS 7 TIMES THE AMOUNT I WAS TOLD!!!! After the several hours I’ve spent on the phone talking to representatives that don’t document anything and never do what they tell you they are going to, and a supervisor who literally says sorry about your hours of phone tag. Difficult to talk to a live representative and when you do you never know if what they’re saying it actually true and clearly aren’t held responsible for ANYTHING that they tell you. If I were you, I would refuse to talk to any representative, only supervisors that are held accountable and make sure you keep track of names. BLUE CROSS YOU JUST LOST A LOYAL FAMILY THAT BEEN WITH YOU FOR OVER 20 YEARS! What a joke.

They are sure to remind you on your call that they got some sort of bogus reward and then ask if you want to hear it again... The people are somewhat helpful, but have zero accountability. They can say one thing before a procedure, then another after and guess who gets stuck with the bill.Their robotic answering service is trash and does everything possible to waste your time and prevent you from accomplishing what you are calling about.
