I always dreaded doing my taxes, but this year Jake made the process straightforward and I'm surprised at how easy it was (I've never said this about taxes before).I'm located in San Francisco, so I used their online portal to file my taxes. The online portal was pretty easy to fill out and I uploaded all of my documents. Since my case is slightly complicated, I emailed Jake with a few questions and he answered quickly and explained things in ways I could understand. Jake was very helpful and it made me feel that I was in good hands.The pricing is extremely reasonable and a great value. I knew what I had to pay upfront, unlike other online services that I've used, such as Turbotax and H&R Block (I hate how they advertise as "free" but you end up paying extra hidden fees to be able to itemize and such). I will never go back to using the "free" do-it-yourself online tax services.Overall, I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of tax services, anywhere!

These guys know their stuff . Very knowledgeable and responsive. They make everything easy with auto pay, online tax uploads, and E-filing. They also do my payroll, which is super straight forward as well. Thanks for the great service. They can even integrate your work comp for pay as you go payments. If you need CPA or payroll services, don't go to ADP - talk to Jake at Schwartz & Schwartz.

Worse experience ever with an accountant. Don’t let the 5 stars fool you as they fooled me.Jake or Jacob was the one handling my work. I was over charged 3 times within two months!My business is very small. My overhead is very very small and I don’t have employees. So my business doesn’t take much to run.all I asked for was payroll every two weeks and book keeping. so he said it would be $150 a month that includes things I didn’t care for like reports of gains and loss. Very fancy. I said OK whatever, since they will handle it and “ thought “ since his company is not huge then communicating will be easy.I incorporated my business so I am new to this world. I had lots of questions in the beginning . He seemed short and irritated every time I emailed him to ask about something. At the end he didn’t even bother to respond to the emails. I simply asked to change my address with IRS cuz I moved and told him that I was overcharged by $33 the first month. He said yes sorry I will refund you the money. Two weeks later no refund and on the stubs address was still old. I did stop by to turn in the IRS change of address form. I hope he submitted it!When I asked him. He didn’t even bother to respond to my email. I told him I am little concerned about our communications and this will be the last email before I take a further step.He said that what I pay is only for the minimum engagement. Payroll, book keeping and that’s it. Anything extra will be billed separately. He said he will mail me the refund check and address is changed.I asked for clarification what does “ anything else” mean? Asking for my refund or changing the address?? Does he want to bill me for that ?he didn’t respond.Two weeks later, no refund check, I was overcharged again this time by $38 plus unknown $44 that he never bothered to explain till now.At this moment I knew this won’t work out. I fired him and told him that if I don’t get the refund for all three charges I will dispute that with my bank and I have emails from him stating that I was over charged.His response was “ hi, sorry seems like you were overcharged again. My apologies. Ok no problem, your paperwork along with the check will be ready at the front desk by noon on Monday. Best of luck”He doesn’t care about small business owners I guess. I don’t know what is his deal. All I know is that if I am paying you money then I need to be treated with respect. Getting in touch with my accountant should not be stressful.An accountant should know how important it is to get refunds and keep numbers accurate in the books.Take your business to someone who cares and treats people the way he likes to be treated.

We had the best experience with Schwartz and Schwartz accounting. Very knowledgeable and friendly, explained everything and made sure we understood it all. Cracking jokes and making me and my wife laugh made us feel like we were with a friend and not doing our taxes. Definitely will be returning for years to come!!

I love working with Martin and his son, they are both excellent at what they do. They are precise and follow up with you if there are any grey areas that are in question.Their customer service skills are beyond normal and make you feel like part of a family. They are the best!

I do not have a personal experience with Jacob but is time for Mr. Martin Schwartz to retire as he lackes concentration, not focused and makes serious mistakes. His secretariat are also neither professional nor helpful and as such are not able to assist.For lack of his attention and response I had serious complications and had to spend 3 days in Social Security Office. Eventually I had to request assistance from another Accountant who could solve my problem with 5 minutes telephone conversation.

Schwartz & Schwartz have been our family and business accountant ever since we moved to San Diego in 2005 and we would not even consider going to anyone else...NEVER! Martin, has been a God send...super conscientious and caring, he is not only a great accountant, but the best part is that he is hysterically funny...He is anything but the typical, dour accountant the profession is known for...If Martin were not an accountant, he could have his own television comedy sitcom...with him, you not only get your taxes done, you also get to have loads of laughs thrown in for free...Now how can you beat that? Martin knows how to ease your stress! Highly recommended! 5 Stars all the way!
